There's nothing bad or good about a batting stance, it's just mechanics on the swing, where your weight is, how you turn your top hand, your head motion, etc.
Also, I'm wondering if open stances are out of fashion right now. You don't see a lot of people batting like Robin Ventura or Larry Walker anymore, with the front foot behind the body. Or maybe I'm just not paying attention.
